
LIU inspector attempts suicide over family dispute in Sultanpur
Sultanpur, May 2: The Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) inspector Nitin Bharti, posted at the Sultanpur police lines in Uttar Pradesh, attempted suicide by hanging himself at his residence due to a family dispute. He was rescued by family and neighbors who broke down the door.
According to the police, the LIU inspector Bharti locked the door of his room and attempted to hang himself from the ceiling fan with a bedsheet last night. He had an argument with his wife, who works in Ayodhya. Hearing the noise, people nearby intervened and broke down the door, rescuing the inspector. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and counseled both parties. Police have suggested pursuing the matter through a family counseling center. Currently, everything is normal at the scene.
The City Circle Officer (CO) Saurabh Samant stated on Saturday that legal advice has been provided to both parties through family counseling.
Meanwhile, various discussions are rife within the police department regarding this matter.
