🚨 Lakhimpur Kheri horror: Teacher shot dead, attacker ends life
Lakhimpur Kheri, September 21: A 28-year-old man shot and killed a female teacher on the premises of Children’s Academy at Shahpura Kothi intersection before turning the gun on himself, prompting district magistrate (DM) Anjani Kumari and superintendent of police (SP) Khyati Garg to rush to the scene with a police force, as investigators and a forensic team examined the site and sent both bodies for post-mortem.
The SP stated that investigations revealed that Mohammad Saud (28), a resident of Naurangabad, had come to the Children’s Academy on Monday. Upon reaching the first-floor corridor, he met Nishat Fatima (26), a teacher. The two men conversed briefly, after which Saud suddenly pulled out his pistol and shot the teacher, killing her. Immediately after shooting the teacher, he placed it on his own temple and fired a shot. Both died on the spot. The school children and staff were terrified by this incident. Upon receiving the information, police officers arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. After collecting evidence, the forensic team sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
The Superintendent of Police stated that a young man shot and killed the teacher inside the school and then shot himself. Saud also died. The reason behind this horrific act is still unclear; the police are investigating the matter thoroughly.
Questions Raised:
The biggest question in this entire incident concerns the school management’s security arrangements. The accused, Saud, was not a member of the school staff, but an outsider. So, how did an outsider, carrying a weapon (a pistol), reach the classroom through the school gate? Why was he not stopped for questioning at the gate? This gross negligence has raised concerns among parents and put the school administration’s security system under scrutiny. The police are investigating all these issues.
