Second wife among three arrested in Hathras murder case
Hathras, September 30: Within 72 hours of the Islamnagar double murder of Shamsuddin and his first wife Samina alias Saddo, the Hathras police cracked the case in a joint operation by the SOG, Anti‑Theft Team, Sadabad and Sahpau police, arresting three accused including the deceased’s second wife and two Agra history‑sheeters, the police apprised.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) Chiranjeevi Nath Singh stated that on the night of September 26, the couple was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon and their home was robbed of jewellery, cash, and other items. Seven police teams were formed to solve the case. The teams examined footage from approximately 350 CCTV cameras installed at the scene and surrounding roads. Footprints, dog squad, and technical evidence, along with CCTV footage of the suspect, were verified through the Yaksh app, leading the police to a history-sheeter in Agra.
According to the police, on September 30th, Sanjay and Chini Pyare, alias Ramprakash, alias Bhuri Singh, were arrested along with their motorcycle near the now-closed Archana Dhaba on the Agra-Hathras road. Subsequently, the deceased’s second wife, Seema, was also arrested.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Seema had allegedly planned to murder her husband, Shamsuddin, and his first wife to acquire their property. She had promised Gaurav, a resident of Agra, 20 lakh rupees for this purpose. She had involved other accused in the plan, and had attempted the crime three or four times previously.
On the night of the incident, Seema ushered the accused into the house. Shamsuddin and Sameena were then attacked with knives and sharp weapons, killing them. After the incident, the accused fled with jewelry and cash. Following the accused’s identification, police recovered the knife used in the murder, blood-stained clothing, a blue TVS Rider motorcycle, jewelry, ₹4,020 in cash, a watch, a mobile phone, and other items. Police said the recovered jewelry and watch were identified by the deceased’s family.
The Police said the arrested Sanjay is a history-sheeter at Sikandra police station and faces several charges, including theft, gangsterism, the NDPS Act, and the Arms Act. Chini Pyare, alias Ramprakash, alias Bhuri Singh, also faces charges of attempt to murder, robbery, gangsterism, the Arms Act, and other sections.
The police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
