Akhilesh counters Yogi’s ‘gaddi’ remark: “We are not saints, We want power”
Four prominent figures, including former MLA Sinod Shakya and IAS Ram Bahadur Pasi, left the BJP and joined the SP
SP President said – People from east to west are joining the PDA, SP will win the elections
Lucknow, October 26: The Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said, “We are not saints. We want a chair, not a throne.” The SP President said this while countering Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement that “Akhilesh will no longer be able to sit on the throne of Uttar Pradesh.”
Akhilesh Yadav was addressing journalists on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti on Monday at the state party headquarters in the capital Lucknow. On this occasion, he first offered flowers to the picture of Maharishi Valmiki and wished the people of the state.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party has seen a major influx of new members today. Four prominent figures have joined the party after leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). These include Sinod Shakya, a two-time former BJP MLA from Badaun Dataganj, Kushagra Sagar, a former MLA from Bisauli, Chandra Kumar Mishra, and former IAS officer Ram Bahadur Pasi. Their arrival has further expanded the PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) family. He congratulated everyone for becoming part of the party’s PDA family.
The SP president said that people from east to west are joining the SP. In this way, the PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) family is continuously growing. The Samajwadi Party family will win a major victory in the upcoming elections. He told the new entrants that the elections are now near, and there is not much time left. Today’s joining has shaken both the east and the west.
The SP president once again questioned the impartiality of the Election Commission.
He alleged that the Election Commission is still not stopping the manipulation, rigging, and manipulation of voter lists. More than 2,000 entries with the name “Sunita, wife of Rajesh,” have been found in the voter lists in several districts of the state. Only after the united voice of opposition parties was the Election Commission forced to take action. It is the Election Commission’s responsibility to ensure that no votes are doubled or tripled.
Taking aim at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, he said that they did not allow the Pradhan elections to take place because the Pradhan knows every voter. They are planning to rig the main elections and are preparing for it on a large scale. We demand that the voter list be linked to Aadhaar. Akhilesh did not stop there and further stated that this ongoing vote-fixing should be stopped through a Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He said that this government is afraid of questions. A government that fears questions always weakens democracy.
The SP president questioned the government regarding law and order, saying that the murders in Lucknow and the suspicious deaths in Gorakhpur jail demonstrate the government’s failure. Regarding the controversial hoardings, he questioned who is putting them up and whose money is behind them. On this occasion, keys to new homes were handed over to five poor women. Akhilesh Yadav honored Mantosh Yadav, who built houses for the poor for ₹5 lakh.
He promised that if the SP government comes to power in the state, it will work to provide facilities to the poor and provide them with homes.
The SP president said, “I assure that in the future, under the Samajwadi Party government, a holiday will be declared on the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki and the birth anniversary will be celebrated on a grand scale.” National General Secretary Shivpal Yadav, Rajendra Chaudhary, State President Shyamlal Pal, along with party officials and workers were present.
