Big Update: Bhushan Kumar teams Up with Rishabh Shetty for historical spectacle
A major update has emerged regarding Kannada actor Rishabh Shetty’s upcoming historical film, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.” Producer Bhushan Kumar has joined this grand period drama. The film will be directed by Sandeep Singh.
Based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his resolve to establish Swarajya, the film will be made in two parts. The film aims to showcase the Maharaj’s historical journey, decisive battles, major victories, sacrifices, and lesser-known aspects of his life on the big screen.
To announce this collaboration, Bhushan Kumar presented Rishabh Shetty with a nearly 100-year-old painting of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This gift is seen as a symbol of respect for the Maharaj and the responsibility of bringing his life to life on screen.
The film is planned to be made on a grand scale. A large cast and experienced technical experts will be brought together. The producers aim to give this historical saga a grand cinematic touch.
According to reports, shooting may begin in early 2027. Its budget is said to be over ₹500 crore. Along with Rishabh Shetty, Bhumi Pednekar, Vivek Oberoi, and Arjun Rampal may also appear in key roles. The film will be produced under the banners of T-Series and Legend Studios. According to the plan, the first part may be released in theaters in 2028 and the second part in 2029.
