
Mohammad Sheikh, working for Pakistani gangster and ISI-linked outfit arrested in Azamgarh
Lucknow, June 01: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested Mohammad Sheikh from Azamgarh on charges of working for Pakistani gangster and terrorist organization link to the Pakistan’s military intelligence agency ISI.
According to the ATS, this youth was motivated to murder a political party leader and carry out a major mission. The ATS is interrogating him.
The Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Law and Order Amitabh Yash said on Monday that efforts are being made to identify people involved in anti-national activities. In this connection, the ATS has arrested Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of Khudadadpur in Azamgarh district. Upon investigation of the mobile phone recovered from him, it was found that he was communicating with Shahzad Bhatti’s terrorist gang through their Pakistani and Dubai numbers. He was connected to their social media accounts and, influenced by their ideology, was talking about jihad. He was also inspiring his associates to join the terrorist gang and commit illegal acts. Mohammad Sheikh was being handled by Shahzad Bhatti, Ajmal Gujjar, and Raza Pakistani from his gang.
ADG further told that i
nitial interrogation revealed that he was given the responsibility of killing a female leader of a political party in another state as a trial, and then a major mission. He had also arranged for a 9mm pistol and four cartridges to carry out this task. The ATS will soon arrest the suspected terrorist, present the evidence recovered from him before the court, and seek his remand.
