Low advance bookings put pressure on ‘Peddi’ before premiere
The highly anticipated sports drama “Peddi,” starring Ram Charan, is just one day away from release. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film will hit theaters worldwide on June 4, with its paid premiere shows scheduled for the night of June 3. Advance bookings for the film have already begun, but initial figures appear to be slightly slower than expected.
According to a report by Sacnilk, “Peddi” has recorded advance bookings of approximately ₹53.9 million for its first day in India. Globally, the film’s advance sales have surpassed ₹120 million (approximately ₹120 million), with overseas markets, including North America, contributing the most.
However, this performance lags behind Ram Charan’s previous film, “Game Changer,” which garnered advance bookings of approximately ₹260 million before its release.
Trade analysts believe that the delay in government approval of ticket rates in Telangana has impacted initial bookings. It is expected that bookings may pick up once the ticket pricing process is completed in the state.
The film stars Jhanvi Kapoor, Boman Irani, and Divyendu Sharma in pivotal roles alongside Ram Charan. All eyes are now on whether bookings for the film pick up pace before release and in the initial days.
