Nepali citizen held with illegal smack worth ₹ 10 lakh in Bahraich
Bahraich, June 06: The Bahraich police has arrested a Nepali citizen on Saturday during patrolling with illegal smack worth ₹ 10 lakh. The Motipur police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and started action.
The Motipur station house officer Anand Chaurasia, along with SI Anil Yadav, constables Jai Prakash and Rohit Singh, were patrolling in the forested area of the Indo-Nepal border. When a suspicious youth saw the police team, he started running away. The police chased him and stopped him and searched his clothes and recovered illegal smack worth approximately Rs 10 lakh hidden in his clothes.
The SHO Anand Chaurasia said that the arrested accused has been identified as Maniram Thapa, a resident of Banke district of Nepal. The recovered smack has been confiscated. The accused will be sent to jail after being produced in court under police custody.
