Sambhal administration acts on complaint, measures tomb built on government land

Sambhal, June 30: A tomb for Mahboobullah Shah has been illegally constructed on government barren land in Sambhal district, where a toilet was also built using government funds, prompting Tehsildar Dhirendra Kumar Singh to form an investigation team following a complaint lodged by Shri Kalki Sena national convener Subhash Tyagi.

The incident occurred in Nagla village, under the Raisatti police station area of Sambhal tehsil. A team from the revenue administration arrived at the scene at 5:30 pm on Tuesday and measured the land using a map and a tape measure. This process continued until 6:50 pm.

Tehsildar Sambhal Dhirendra Pratap Singh appointed Deepak Jurail, deputy tehsildar of Asmoli, as the team’s in-charge. The team included Revenue Inspector Amichand, Regional Accountant Rohit Kumar, Accountant Surendra Singh, Piyush Sharma, Amit Kumar-1, Amit Kumar-2, Arpit Banga, and Anurag Sharma.

After the measurement, the complaint was found to be true at first glance. The land area has been identified as approximately two bighas. A report on the matter will be submitted to the tehsil administration.

Accountant Rohit Kumar informed that 0.117 hectares of barren land in Khata number 68/3 was measured. The shrine of Mehboobullah Shah and a toilet constructed with government funds were found on the site. He stated that the measurement report has been sent to the tehsil administration, and prima facie, it appears to be a case of illegal encroachment on government land.

Police remained on duty to maintain security and peace in Nagla village during the revenue team’s measurement. After receiving the investigation report, the tehsil administration will take further action regarding the illegally constructed shrine.
