
Box Office Update: Alpha’s weekend surge, Jungle maintains ₹114.90 cr domestic run
The spy thriller film ‘Alpha,’ starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, continued its momentum over the weekend and performed good at the box office. Released on July 3, the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, but saw an hike in earnings on the third day.
According to preliminary figures from box office tracker website Sacnilk, the film grossed ₹13.25 crore on Sunday. Previously, it earned ₹9.25 crore on the first day and ₹11.50 crore on the second day. The film’s domestic collection has reached ₹34 crore in three days, while ₹18 crore from the overseas market has taken its global total to ₹58.80 crore.
Meanwhile, ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ starring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Disha Patani, and Rajpal Yadav, is maintaining a strong hold in its second week. The film grossed ₹9.75 crore on Sunday, its 10th day of release. This brings its domestic box office total to ₹114.90 crore, while its worldwide gross has reached ₹166.75 crore.
Currently, the two films are locked in a close competition at the box office. However, the real test will be the business days following the weekend, which will determine which film maintains its long-term hold.
