Champat Rai, Anil Mishra resignations accepted; Krishna Mohan Tripathi named ‘acting’ general secretary: Govind Dev Giri

Ayodhya/ Lucknow, July 6:  At a meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and member Anil Mishra were accepted, with Krishna Mohan Tripathi appointed acting general secretary, who pledged to punish those guilty of donation theft, rectify management shortcomings, and restore the Ram Temple’s prestige and trust in society.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri Maharaj informed the media about the decisions taken at the meeting. He stated that the quorum for the Trust meeting was met, and Trust member K. Parasaran joined the meeting virtually. The meeting described the theft of temple donations as extremely unfortunate and hurtful. The meeting discussed the moral resignations of Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra, in accordance with the Trust’s rules.

During the meeting, senior Supreme Court advocate and Trustee K. Parasaran informed the members that the Trust’s rule is that any member resigning will be accepted. Consequently, the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra have been accepted on moral grounds. Trustee Krishnamohan has been appointed Acting General Secretary. A committee has also been formed to assist him.

Govind Dev Giri stated that the Trust will meet again on July 22nd. The appointment of new Trust members will be considered at the meeting. By then, the SIT’s final report will be available. Action will also be taken against other perpetrators of donation theft. He stated that a list of 2,800 items donated for the Ram Temple has been compiled, and if any donor has any doubts, they can visit the Trust’s Ayodhya office. All items have been kept in complete safety.

Getting very emotional, Govind Dev Giri Maharaj said that the baseless media reports regarding the temple theft and the concern shown by some political parties on this issue are detrimental to the nation, as these are the same political parties and leaders who went to court, calling Lord Ram a fictitious figure, and even ordered the firing of kar sevaks during the temple movement. The aim of such leaders and organizations is to gain political mileage and attack Hindu unity, Ram devotees, and Sanatan Dharma. However, the Trust appeals to all Hindus to act in accordance with their expectations and restore their faith. He urged Ram devotees to remain patient and ignore any baseless news.

The Trust meeting was held at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex under the chairmanship of Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, and Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri Maharaj presented the proposals for consideration.
