Lucknow, July 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Uttar Pradesh in the 136th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday. He said that under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign, Uttar Pradesh showed amazing resolve of people. More than 35 crore saplings were planted there in a single day on July 12. As a Member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh, this is a matter of special pride for me.
Prime Minister Modi said that today, through the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign, people across the country are fulfilling their responsibility towards nature. When society connects with this spirit, many beautiful and inspiring examples emerge. He said that trees are not only for humans; they are also home to countless creatures.
The Prime Minister appealed to the countrymen to connect some special occasion in their lives with nature. Plant a tree in the name of Mother Earth. Today’s small sapling can become a legacy of greenery, clean air, and a bright future for generations to come.

In a post on his social media account, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for praising Uttar Pradesh in the “Mann Ki Baat” program. The Chief Minister wrote that Prime Minister Modi’s mention of planting more than 35 crore saplings in a single day in Uttar Pradesh under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign in his “Mann Ki Baat” program today is a tribute to the state’s collective awareness and historic success of public participation in environmental conservation.
The Chief Minister wrote that Uttar Pradesh has proven that only a society sensitive to nature can lay the strongest foundation for a “developed India.” He assured that under the Prime Minister’s guidance, Uttar Pradesh will continue to energize this national resolve for nature conservation, public participation, and green development.
