Patna HC orders probe against ‘fake’ madarsas

Chapra/Patna, 25 January: The Patna High Court has ordered probe against madarsas opened after November 29, 1980 and have been

receiving grant from the government.

The High Court has passed this order on the writ petition of Advocate Rashid Izhar. Altogether 2,459 madarsas have been identified. The court has also ordered the government not to pay grant to 609 madarsas and has instructed to submit probe report before February 14, the next date of hearing.

The court has instructed the DGP to complete probe regarding the FIR lodged regarding granting affiliation to such madarsas.
