Twin suicides reported in Lucknow, police probe underway
According to information provided by the Commissionerate Police Lucknow, in the first incident, the body of a young man was found hanging in a mango orchard on the side of Malihabad Road, ahead of Durgaganj intersection, under the jurisdiction of Kakori police station. On receiving information, Kakori police immediately reached the spot, took down the body and started investigation. The deceased has been identified as Rohit Rawat alias Bauwa (25), a resident of Durgaganj. The young man hanged himself from a mango tree using a cot’s beam. Police, along with the field unit, collected evidence from the scene and sent the body for post-mortem. Police are now investigating the reasons behind the young man’s suicide.
Similarly, in the Madiyav police station area, Mohammad Tauheed (24) committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his room while alone. Family members present at the scene stated that Tauheed was unmarried. He supported himself by working as a delivery boy for Swiggy and Zomato. Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and have begun investigating the case.
