Shahjahanpur, 15 May: According to authorities, a computer instructor at a government school here was detained on Monday for allegedly abusing 12 female students. They also stated that the school’s principal and one of the instructors had been booked and suspended in connection with the matter.
“Around 12 girl students, including some Dalits, studying in a junior government school in the Tilhar police station area were allegedly molested by computer instructor Mohammad Ali,” said Circle Officer (Tilhar) Priyank Jain.
Despite receiving a report from the pupils, the administrator allegedly took no action against Ali, according to Jain. When a Dalit student was assaulted by Ali on Saturday, the pupils alerted their families, according to the FIR filed by village head Lalta Prasad.
The family members, together with the locals, arrived at the school and caused a commotion. The testimonies of the girls and several of the school’s teachers were recorded on the scene, according to Jain. He also stated that the students had been sent for a medical check. According to the police, the accused has been charged under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, and sections of the Indian Penal Code.
According to District Basic Shiksha Adhikari Kumar Gaurav, the computer instructor was found guilty during the preliminary investigations by police and his services would be terminated. School principal Anil Kumar and assistant teacher Sajia, according to Gaurav, have both been suspended with immediate effect.
He went on to say that there are now three instructors in the classrooms, and that extra tutors have been appointed to guarantee that instruction is not disrupted. Meanwhile, Tilhar’s block education officer has organised a three-member committee to investigate the event, with a report due in 15 days.
