Heavy rains likely to disrupt normal life in several UP districts

Lucknow, September 7: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday forecast rain and thundershowers across many districts of Uttar Pradesh from September 7 to 11, warning of unpredictable weather conditions during the five‑day period.

According to the IMD, rainfall activity is expected to be relatively high in eastern Uttar Pradesh. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department on September 7, rain or thundershowers may occur at some places in western Uttar Pradesh and at many places in eastern Uttar Pradesh on September 7. Heavy rainfall is highly likely at some places in both western and eastern Uttar Pradesh on September 7.

On September 8, rain is expected at many places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, while showers are expected at some places in the western region. There is a warning for heavy rainfall at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh on this day. Following this, rain and thundershowers are likely at isolated places in the state from September 9th to 11th.

According to Dr S.N. Sunil Pandey, a meteorologist at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), Kanpur, the atmospheric humidity remains sufficient. Consequently, local cloud formation may lead to rain and thunderstorm activity in many parts of the state. Where the sun shines, temperatures may rise, along with humidity. Over the next few days, light to moderate rain is expected at many places, along with thunderstorms and strong winds in some areas.

He advised people to avoid open spaces during thunderstorms and avoid standing under trees, electric poles, or other tall objects. Farmers have also been advised to plan their agricultural operations based on the possibility of rain. The Agricultural Meteorology Cell of the CSA is also providing weather-based agricultural advice to farmers.
