CM Yogi empowers grassroots workers with 50% honorarium hike
Lucknow, September 16: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a major gift to more than 57 thousand Panchayat Assistants in the state. Their honorarium has been increased by three thousand rupees. Currently, Panchayat Assistants receive six thousand rupees per month, which will be increased to nine thousand rupees. This will represent a 50 percent hike in honorarium. Panchayat Assistants will also receive service security, cashless treatment, and maternity leave for female Panchayat Assistants.
After talks with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the Panchayat Assistants’ demands, Panchayat Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Wednesday called representatives of the Panchayat Assistants leading the agitation and held talks. Following this, a press conference was held in the presence of representatives, informing them of the decisions taken in the interest of Panchayat Assistants.
Currently, the honorarium of Panchayat Assistants is paid from the State Finance Commission. Now, after Cabinet approval, a DBT system will be implemented. Following this, an honorarium of Rs. 9,000 will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of Panchayat Assistants. This benefit will be available to over 57,000 Panchayat Assistants in the state.
A major decision has also been taken regarding the service security of Panchayat Assistants. Now, the village head and Panchayat Secretary will not be able to remove Panchayat Assistants on their own. A committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. This committee will be able to decide on the removal of any Panchayat Assistant.
Cases related to the agitation will be withdrawn
Those Panchayat Assistants who were removed during this period will be reinstated.
Maternity leave and cashless treatment for women
Female Panchayat Assistants will receive the benefit of maternity leave. Additionally, they will also be given the benefit of cashless treatment for Panchayat Assistants.
Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar called for talks the representatives leading the agitation of Panchayat Sahayaks who were protesting for their demands and held talks with them. After this the representatives of Panchayat Sahayaks were also present in the press conference with the Minister.
After getting information about the decisions taken at the level of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Panchayat Sahayaks ended their dharna.
