
Identity deception and car assault: Victim names ‘Shahnawaz’ in Lucknow case, accused held, car seized
Lucknow, September 16: A case of a young woman being hit by a car has come to light near Janeshwar Mishra Park in the Gomti Nagar police station area of the Lucknow, where the victim accused a youth she knew and his friend of attempting to crush her to death after a dispute; police have sent her for medical examination, detained one accused based on the vehicle number, and initiated an investigation.
A video of a car hitting a young woman and then fleeing near Gate No. 4 of Janeshwar Mishra Park in Gomti Nagar Extension on Wednesday morning went viral on social media. Upon taking cognizance of the viral video and investigating, the police found that the man who hit the woman was her boyfriend.
The woman alleged that Shahnawaz lured her into ‘love jihad’ by introducing himself as Yash Thakur. Today, she received information that Shahnawaz was in a car near Janeshwar Park with his second girlfriend. Upon receiving this information, the woman arrived on her scooter and Shahnawaz began to flee. When she tried to stop the car, he hit her and then ran away. She grabbed the hood to save her life, but Shahnawaz didn’t stop the car. He dragged her for a short distance, hitting her, and then fled.
According to the DCP (East) Diksha Sharma, the vehicle used in the Janeshwar Mishra Park incident has been seized, and a case of attempted murder will be lodged against the culprit as the police move forward with the investigation.
A video of the entire incident went viral on social media, prompting police to take immediate action. Shortly after, based on the vehicle number, the police detained one of the accused and the car.
The Gomti Nagar police station in-charge stated that an accused has been taken into custody and the entire matter is being investigated. Legal action will be taken based on the allegations and the investigation.
