
Five from Pilibhit family, one from Saharanpur adopt ‘Sanatan Dharma’ in Haridwar
Lucknow/ Haridwar, October 2: A program to celebrate the adoption of ‘Sanatan Dharma’ by six people was organized at the Tirtha Seva Trust Ashram at Chandighat in the holy city of Haridwar. According to the Trust, five members of the same family from Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh and a young man from Saharanpur announced their decision to leave the Muslim religion and embrace Sanatan Dharma.
During the program, after bathing in the Ganges and worshipping on the banks of the Ganges, a yajna (fire ritual) and purification ceremony were performed. Following this, everyone was christened amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras.
The program was held in the presence of Sant Ram Vishal Das Maharaj, President of the Tirtha Seva Trust. Baba Hathyogi Maharaj, Acharya Kuldeep Vidyarthi, and Acharya Mukesh Shastri, along with several other saints and sages, were present. Following the havan and religious rituals, the newly initiated members were welcomed with a shower of flowers and garlands.
According to the Trust, Mahid, a resident of Pilibhit, arrived in Haridwar with his wife, Sabina Bibi, and three children, Rihaan, Aarav, and Inaya. The family expressed their desire to return to Sanatan Dharma. After religious rituals, Mahid was renamed Mohit, Sabina Khushi, the two sons Roshan and Rohan, and the daughter Ananya. Ibrahim, a resident of Saharanpur, was given the new name Virat Pundir. The Tirtha Seva Trust also provided all six individuals with homecoming certificates.
During the ceremony, Mohit stated that he made this decision voluntarily, without any pressure. He stated that he felt a sense of respect, compassion, and peace within the Sanatan tradition.
Saint Ram Vishal Das Maharaj stated that Sanatan is not limited to a system of worship, but rather a life-long vision of truth, values, duty, and service. He emphasized that society should respect such decisions made voluntarily.
Mahant Karan Giri, Mahant Omdas of Palp Dev Ashram, Mahant Hitesh Das, Thakur Shubham Singh, Rajesh Kumar, and many other saints were present at the event. Following the religious rituals, all six individuals were welcomed.
