Purvanchal Expressway accident claims lives of martyr’s family members

Sultanpur, 04 October: An army ambulance carrying the body of a martyr from Chandigarh to Deoria collided with an unknown truck on Sunday morning at 8 am on Purvanchal Expressway in Haliyapur police station area near the Ayodhya-Sultanpur border, killing four people including the martyr’s brother, nephew and son.

The superintendent of police (SP) Vineet Jaiswal told on Sunday that the family members were taking the body of martyr Subedar Major Satyawan, resident of Galiya Dudhaila police station Rudrapur district Deoria, in the ambulance. The vehicle was carrying Rajan Chaudhary, son of Bhupati Singh (brother of the martyr), Ram Samjha, son of Jai Singh (nephew of the martyr), Gaurav Singh, son of Satyawan (son of the martyr), and Jaspal, son of an unknown resident. Gaurav Singh and Jaspal, the driver, died on the spot after being hit by an unknown vehicle at 79.6 km of the Purvanchal Expressway in the Haliapur area of ​​Sultanpur. Rajan Chaudhary and Ram Samjha Singh died during treatment at Pithola Kumarganj Hospital in Ayodhya district.

The district magistrate (DM) Indrajit Singh stated that the Subedar Major was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chandigarh where he died. Three family members were also in the vehicle; four people, including the driver, have died. The unknown vehicle is being searched for. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
