PM Modi to reach party HQ as BJP gains strong edge in Bengal, Assam
New Delhi, May 4: Counting of votes is underway for the assembly elections in five states, including West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has maintained a decisive lead in West Bengal and Assam since the initial phase of counting. There is a celebratory atmosphere at the BJP headquarters. As in every previous election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the party headquarters in the evening and address workers and supporters. Preparations for his welcome are in full swing at the party headquarters.
In view of the trend of election results in West Bengal, BJP workers have been celebrating with drums and trumpets at the party headquarters since morning. Fireworks are also being set off. Preparations are underway to welcome the Prime Minister at the headquarters. According to a party official, Prime Minister Modi will arrive at the headquarters at 6:30 pm to address workers and supporters on this historic victory.
Jhalmuri, Rasgulla and sweet curd (Mishti Doi) are also being distributed at the headquarters. Meanwhile, a worker was also seen roaming the headquarters premises dressed as Mamata Banerjee.
It is noteworthy that the Trinamool Congress has been in power in West Bengal continuously since 2011, and Mamata Banerjee is the Chief Minister of the state. Now the BJP seems to be forming the government there for the first time.
