
Electoral success across states a democratic response: BJP
New Delhi, October 9: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed happiness over the victory in the Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh and the victory of the NDA representative in Puducherry.
The BJP General Secretary Smriti Irani said in a press conference on Friday that the election trends coming in from West Bengal and Assam are showing positive results for the BJP. She described this victory as a victory for democracy and expressed gratitude to the voters.
Smriti Irani said that the news of the party’s victory in the Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh is heartening for party workers. Party workers also expressed happiness over the victory of the NDA representative in Puducherry.
She said that Nandigram, once a symbol of the struggle against leftist ideology, violence, and obstacles to industrial development, now the BJP is moving towards victory there with a resolve for good governance. Expressing gratitude to the voters in various states, the party said, “Today, democracy has responded to mobocracy.”
