BMC demolishes illegal construction at Ajay Devgan’s Juhu bungalow
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) team on Saturday carried out demolition action on the illegal construction work done in the Juhu bungalow of Bollywood film actor Ajay Devgan.
This action was taken after the Mumbai Municipal Corporation issued a notice to Ajay Devgan on September 10. In this notice, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation had directed Ajay Devgan to remove the illegal construction done in the bungalow himself.
A Mumbai Municipal Corporation official said that this bungalow of Ajay Devgan and his mother Veena Devgan is built on 7,802 square feet in the Kapol Cooperative Housing Society located on Road No. 11 in Juhu. Internal alterations, construction of partition walls, alteration of windows and other structural work were being done in this bungalow without the necessary permission from the Municipal Corporation. On September 10, the municipal body issued a stop-work notice under Section 354 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act.
This notice stated that the construction permit documents must be shown to the BMC and the illegal construction removed immediately. However, Devgan did not provide the documents regarding the construction permission; he only submitted a letter to the BMC, which the BMC rejected.
Subsequently, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s West Division office issued another notice on October 6. This notice stated that if these instructions were not followed, the unauthorized structure and construction materials would be removed, at the expense and risk of which would be borne by the owner. After receiving no response from Ajay Devgan, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation demolished the illegal construction at Ajay Devgan’s bungalow today.
