Centre assures relief for protesters as CJP informs apex court of Sep 5 march cancellation
New Delhi, September 01: Union Minister JP Nadda welcomed the decision of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) to cancel the march on September 5. Welcoming this move of CJP, he said that no strict action will be taken against those involved in the protest on July 20. Nadda said, “In this sequence, we discussed with all the BJP ruled states and they have also assured to withdraw the FIRs lodged against the CJP protesters.”
Union Minister JP Nadda said while talking to the media on Tuesday that on July 25, 2026, he along with Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh had talked to the representatives of the students involved in the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar. Keeping the future of the students in mind, the government had assured that the cases filed against the protesting students would be withdrawn and no coercive action would be taken against them in the future.
Nadda stated that discussions have been held with the governments of BJP-ruled states in this regard, and the government is now fulfilling its promise.
He welcomed the CJP spokesperson’s announcement at a press conference to withdraw the protest planned for September 5th. He stated that the future, progress, and development of the youth are the government’s top priorities.
It is noteworthy that the Cockroach Janata Party has withdrawn its protest march planned for September 5 in Delhi.
CJP spokesperson Sourav Das informed the Supreme Court bench on Tuesday that the organization had decided to cancel the march in light of the central government’s steps to withdraw the cases filed against the protesters.
Sourav Das appeared before a bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi, and Justice V. Mohana and informed the court of the organization’s decision.
