Chief Minister Yogi announces massive recruitment drive for state youth
Lucknow, August 25: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed appointment letters to 3,572 youth during a program held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Tuesday. In his address on this occasion, he said that in the last nine and a half years, his government has provided government jobs to more than nine lakh youth of the state. One lakh youth of the state will be given government jobs in the next six months.
Yogi said that we must keep in mind that when we select the most qualified candidates without discrimination, the entire state benefits. The entire state is seen to benefit from their talent and their energy, and this is also a significant achievement of the double-engine Bharatiya Janata Party government in the last 9-9.5 years.
He said that our government has succeeded in providing government jobs to over 930,000 youth of Uttar Pradesh, and no one can question a single appointment. We have decided from day one that the practice that existed before 2017 will no longer be followed. An advertisement for an appointment would be published, and the uncle-nephew duo and the entire Mahabharata clan would then set out across the state to collect the money. The youth would wander around, nothing would come of it, and ultimately the courts would have to stay the proceedings. Our youth’s time was wasted. People believed that these youth were worthless because they were not getting jobs. The fault was not of the youth, but of those sitting on those commissions and boards and the corrupt system of the governments of that time. We had said on day one that if this government is working under a policy of zero tolerance towards crime and criminals, then we will break the back of the counterfeit mafia and the mafia in various institutions and teach their masters a lesson.
Yogi stated that you may have noticed that during this time, we took massive action. We confiscated the mafia’s property, secured recovery from them, and by making the recruitment process more transparent, we succeeded in providing government jobs to over 930,000 young people. Today, as I join this program of distributing appointment letters to 3,500 agricultural technical assistants and market secretaries, I am assuring the youth across the state that within the next six months, one lakh young people will be given government appointment letters.
CM said that we feel bad when young people say they’ve taken exams and haven’t received their results yet. We hold meetings with commissions and boards and tell them, “You’ve been given so much freedom, please release the results on time.” What used to happen before? You must have studied in this state. The UP Board exams used to take three months. The results took three months. Thus, six months of the year were wasted. The admission process for the next three months was separate, and festivals and celebrations were separate. Children didn’t even get three months to study. Back then, the government left the youth with nothing. To gain cheap popularity, they created an identity crisis for the youth of the state. Initially, the youth thought they were well-wishers, but they weren’t. They were enemies of the youth. When
CM Yogi stated that I held my first meeting in 2017, I told them to delay it by a month. They said it wasn’t possible. So I said, “Give up your post, I’ll get it done within a month.” I will get it done within a month. Today, I am pleased to inform you that I will conduct the UP Board exams in 14 days and release the results within the next 14 days. 5.6 million candidates appear for that exam. I have also asked those in higher education to further limit the examination system. Exams should not be a means of torturing children. They should be a means of assessment. Make it easy, simple, and fill them with confidence.
Yogi said, remember, this same Uttar Pradesh was called a sick state before 2017. Youth were migrating, farmers were committing suicide. Daughters faced security threats. Businesses were ravaged by the mafia. Farmers were afraid to go to their fields. If they had a motor installed in their fields, they would never know when it was stolen. This used to happen within Uttar Pradesh, and today I am pleased to inform you that we have given jobs to 930,000 young people in Uttar Pradesh. What is the result? Uttar Pradesh has benefited from this.
These young people have succeeded in uplifting Uttar Pradesh from a sick state and establishing it as India’s third-largest economy. Today, no one steals a motor from the fields of Uttar Pradesh’s farmers, who feed them. They know that if someone steals, they will surely be crippled the next day.
The Chief Minister said that electricity used to come for one week during the day and one week at night. That too for three hours. What development can anyone achieve with this? We provide approximately 10 hours of electricity to Uttar Pradesh farmers, and that too for free. This means that electricity is free for government tube wells.
