Delhi parks security intensified, police acts against 111
New Delhi, September 24: To enhance the safety of the public, including women, in several parks and public spaces across Delhi, the district police have intensified patrolling and checking operations. During this period, action was taken against 111 individuals.
According to the police, efforts are being made to curb anti-social activities by maintaining a constant police presence at sensitive locations. During a thorough check in various parks in the Central District, action was taken against 111 individuals under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act.
On the instructions of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, a security audit of Delhi’s parks is being conducted. In this connection, the police in the Central District conducted joint foot patrols in parks, markets, crowded areas, and other sensitive locations. Along with the Central District Police, Delhi Traffic Police and Outer Force personnel were also deployed in the operation. Police teams visited parks to check on people present there and monitor suspicious activities. Surveillance has been increased, especially in public places frequented by women and the general public.
Police stated that the campaign’s purpose is not only to take action but also to reduce the risk of crime by increasing police presence in parks and public places. Regular patrols in sensitive and isolated areas, along with checking of parks, will continue. Antisocial elements are being monitored through joint patrols and checking.
