Rahul Gandhi holds Dharmendra Pradhan responsible for CBSE controversy
New Delhi, May 28: The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has directly blamed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the controversy over the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
Rahul said in a social media post on Thursday that whether the matter was investigated or not, in both the situations Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is directly responsible. If the Prime Minister was concerned about the students, he would have removed the minister from his post long ago.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit back at Dharmendra Pradhan’s statement about frustration over his consecutive electoral defeats, saying that no matter how much Pradhan attacks him, it will not stop him from demanding answers for 18.5 lakh students.
Rahul Gandhi questioned the awarding of the CBSE’s on-screen evaluation system contract to COMPETE, a company previously embroiled in controversy under the name Globarena. He asked who ordered this, why no background checks were conducted, and what the company management’s relationship is with the government.
It is noteworthy that Pradhan had previously stated to reporters after a high-level meeting with CBSE officials that Rahul Gandhi was opposing the country’s scientific progress due to frustration over his electoral defeat. He assured students that he would take responsibility for any inconvenience caused by the system. The CBSE has submitted its response on this matter, which is in accordance with the Government of India’s procurement policy. He assured that no one would be spared if any irregularities were found.
