Dr SN Sunil Pandey, a meteorologist at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), Kanpur, stated that monsoon activity is currently active in the state. He stated that thunderstorms and rain are likely at some locations in western Uttar Pradesh on August 19th. Rainfall is also expected at some locations in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
According to Dr. Sunil Pandey, rain is expected at some locations in western Uttar Pradesh on August 20th, while thunderstorms and rain are likely at many locations in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also expected at some locations during this period. Following this, rain is expected at many locations in western and eastern Uttar Pradesh on August 21st and 22nd. On August 23rd, there is a possibility of thunderstorms at some locations in western Uttar Pradesh and almost all locations in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The meteorologist stated that severe thunder and lightning are possible at many locations during the rain. People should avoid going out into open fields during such weather. It is also important to avoid standing under trees, power poles, or other elevated areas. Farmers have been advised to monitor weather changes while working in the fields.
He stated that continuous rainfall is expected to bring a drop in temperatures and provide relief from humidity. However, waterlogging may occur in areas receiving heavy rainfall. People living in low-lying areas have been advised to exercise special caution and avoid unnecessary exposure to waterlogged areas.
Dr Pandey urged farmers to monitor the weather forecast. If thunder or lightning strikes while working in the fields, they should move to a safe location. Regularly monitoring crops is also essential if fields become flooded due to rain. According to the weather forecast, rainfall activity may be more active in eastern Uttar Pradesh over the next few days. Therefore, the administration, farmers, and the general public need to constantly monitor local weather warnings.
