Khangar community to gain political recognition under SP rule: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, August 30: The Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said that if Samajwadi Party government is formed, the morale of the people of Maharaja Khet Singh Khangar’s community will be boosted by giving them political respect and proper place.

He once again claimed that council schools are being closed in the state by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and said that if SP government is formed, the closed schools will be reopened.

Akhilesh Yadav was addressing the journalists in a press conference held at the party headquarters in the capital on Sunday. He said, “I assure the people of Maharaja Khet Singh Khangar’s community that whenever a Samajwadi Party government is formed, we will boost their morale by giving them political respect and position.”

He added that people across the country have been demanding that a caste census be conducted, ensuring that all classes receive their rights and respect in proportion to their population. Akhilesh Yadav stated that the caste census will be conducted within three months of the Samajwadi Party forming a government in Uttar Pradesh. Targeting the BJP government, the SP president said that loot and “great robbery” are taking place in the state. He said that any money saved by stopping this loot will be spent for the welfare of the poor.

Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP, saying, “The entire country knows that the person who stole Sita came in disguise, so be wary of such (BJP) people.” He also accused the BJP of closing council schools in the state.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the 26,000 primary schools that the BJP government is preparing to close will be reopened once the Samajwadi Party forms the government. He said that the closure of schools will affect the education of children from poor, rural and deprived families and they will have to go far away for education.

He said that a large number of children from backward, Dalit and minority communities study in council schools. If SP government is formed, work will be done to give rights and respect to PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) community in proportion to its population.

Akhilesh Yadav said that Samajwadi Party is committed to social justice and equal opportunity and if the government is formed, concrete steps will be taken towards strengthening the deprived sections politically, socially and economically.

The SP president said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is a party of big moneylenders, they loot money from the poor and put it in their pockets. He said that Rs. 7 thousand crores are being spent to improve the BJP’s image, the truth is that even if Rs. 70 thousand crores are spent, the image will not improve.

Akhilesh again reiterated that they (BJP) are upset with the PDA, because we are progressive people, we want to do development, we want to move forward. Without taking any name, the SP president said that Chaudhary Charan Singh ji was the first leader who fought for the farmers, if the Bharatiya Janata Party respects him, then hand pumps should be given three times the seats.
