Mayawati questions one lakh jobs promise, warns voters against poll gimmick
Lucknow, August 26: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati has raised questions on the state government’s announcement of providing government jobs to one lakh youth in the next six months.
She said that this delayed step of the government is right, but it seems more like an election move. She said that it would be better if these appointments are completed on time, free from paper leaks and corruption, so that it does not turn out to be an election gimmick.
BSP chief Mayawati wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday morning that people are eagerly waiting for the government’s announcement regarding recruitment on the backlog of reserved posts for SC, ST and OBC communities. Mayawati said that 6,800 candidates from these categories are agitating for their appointments in the 69,000 teacher recruitment process in the state, and the government should definitely consider them.
Raising questions about the school education system, Mayawati further stated that the BSP continuously demands proper improvement of the school education system. She said that approximately 30,000 government schools have been closed here. It would be in the public interest if the government immediately makes arrangements to reactivate them effectively.
Regarding free bus travel for elderly women, Mayawati said that more than this, the government needs to protect women from exploitation, atrocities, and harassment in every field, as well as work towards ensuring their safety, respect, and self-reliance.
