MP BJP removes Sajjan Singh as district president over 120-vehicle convoy controversy

Bhopal, May 14: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken major action for disregarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to reduce fuel consumption. The party has removed BJP Kisan Morcha Bhind District President Sajjan Singh Yadav from his post for indiscipline.

In fact, the newly appointed District President of the BJP Kisan Morcha in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, Sajjan Singh Yadav, who demonstrated his strength with a convoy of 120 vehicles, has faced consequences. The party considered this indiscipline and disregard for the Prime Minister’s message and removed him from the post with immediate effect.

Sajjan Singh, along with his supporters, arrived from Gwalior to Bhind on Wednesday in a convoy of approximately 120 vehicles. He was welcomed by supporters at various locations in the city. The event turned into a show of strength at many places, with garlands and slogans.

Sajjan Singh Yadav is considered an active BJP leader in the Mau region of Bhind district. He previously served as the Mau Mandi President. His wife, Vandana Yadav, is currently the President of the Mau Municipal Council. After assuming his new responsibilities within the organization, supporters organized a grand welcome ceremony, but this very demonstration became the reason for action against him. Videos and photos of the convoy quickly went viral on social media, prompting opposition parties to question the BJP. The matter reached the state organization, and orders for action were issued on Thursday.

A letter issued by BJP Kisan Morcha State President Jaipal Singh Chawda clearly stated that the rally from Gwalior to Bhind on May 13th was contrary to Prime Minister Modi’s appeal for energy conservation and was considered a violation of organizational discipline. On the instructions of State BJP President Hemant Khandelwal, Sajjan Singh Yadav’s appointment was revoked with immediate effect. The organization also clearly indicated that no party official, regardless of their level, will be allowed to display personal power.

Political analysts believe that the BJP took this action to send a message to the entire organization. The party wants to demonstrate that ignoring the Prime Minister’s messages can now lead to direct disciplinary action.

For several years, Prime Minister Modi has emphasized a “pro-planet lifestyle,” energy conservation, and responsible resource use. He has appealed from various platforms to reduce unnecessary electricity use, save fuel, and adopt a simple lifestyle.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is also spreading the message of simplicity

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav himself has spoken of simplicity and energy conservation on numerous occasions. From the Chief Minister’s Office to government events, there’s been an emphasis on limiting the use of electricity and resources. State ministers, including the Chief Minister, have also limited their vehicle fleets. While ministers used to be seen traveling with a large number of vehicles, many now travel with fewer vehicles.

Furthermore, there’s also been an increased emphasis on reducing unnecessary expenditures in government programs. Several departments have been instructed to conserve electricity and fuel. The use of digital media in government meetings is being encouraged to conserve resources.
