PM Modi calls Indonesia visit a milestone in strategic and technological partnership

New Delhi, July 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that his visit has opened new opportunities for cooperation between India and Indonesia in key areas such as defense and security, maritime cooperation, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), digital innovation, and capacity building. He said that this visit has proven to take the strategic partnership between the two countries to new heights.

Upon concluding his state visit to Indonesia, Prime Minister Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ that he is extremely satisfied with the achievements made regarding the future of the India-Indonesia partnership. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Indonesia and President Prabowo Subianto, he said that President Subianto has shown special warmth and personal commitment to taking the relations between the two countries to new heights.

Modi stated that the visit has opened new vistas for cooperation in areas such as defense and security, maritime cooperation, critical and emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and capacity building, further broadening the relationship between the two countries and making it more comprehensive and future-oriented.

Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also described the Prime Minister’s visit as highly successful. He stated on X that Prime Minister Modi, after concluding his state visit to Indonesia, has departed for Melbourne for the second leg of his three-nation tour. He added that as a sign of special friendship, President Prabowo Subianto personally saw the Prime Minister off at the airport.

Jaiswal stated that the Prime Minister’s visit to Indonesia has yielded significant results in key areas of cooperation between the two countries. It has placed the India-Indonesia partnership on a stronger footing and set an ambitious cooperation agenda for the future.
