Rahul Gandhi holds public hearing in Rae Bareli, meets bullion traders, vows GST push in LS
Rae Bareli, September 9: The Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, held a public hearing at his Bhuemau residence on Wednesday, the second day of his two-day visit to Rae Bareli.
A large number of people arrived from the morning with their problems and demands. In addition to Congress workers, members of the public and representatives from various organizations met Rahul Gandhi and apprised him of local issues. Women’s Congress District President Lakshmi Sinha met Rahul Gandhi, tied a Rakhi, and expressed her commitment to making him Prime Minister in 2029.
Sultanpur Congress vice president Janardan Shukla also met Rahul Gandhi and assured him of strengthening the organization. Psychologist Ruma Praveen also met Rahul Gandhi and raised the issue of Rae Bareli’s dilapidated roads. Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Mahi also met Rahul Gandhi to express support for SP workers in Rae Bareli and demanded that an intersection be named after Kargil martyr Rajendra Yadav.
Rammohan Srivastava, president of the Rae Bareli Transport Union, demanded the establishment of a Transport Nagar in Rae Bareli. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi met with bullion traders, listened to their problems, and promised to raise the GST issue in the Lok Sabha. Local Congress leaders also met with Rahul Gandhi and discussed organizational matters. A large crowd gathered to meet with him. Today, Rahul will lay the foundation stone for projects worth ₹3 crore from the MPLADS fund.
He will also participate in the District Monitoring and Supervision Committee (Disha) meeting held at the Rae Bareli Collectorate.
