Rajya Sabha oath ceremony: BJP dominates with six of nine members
New Delhi, July 20: On the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament on Monday, 9 elected members of Rajya Sabha were sworn in as members of the House. The Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath to these newly elected members.
The members who took oath include Mukeshbhai J. Rathwa of BJP from Gujarat, Pawan Khera of Congress from Karnataka, Mahesh Kewat of BJP from Madhya Pradesh, James Pangsang Kongkal Sangma of National People’s Party from Meghalaya, Khiangte Laltluagkima from Mizoram, Satish Poonia of BJP from Rajasthan and Prakash Chik Baraik, Sushmita Dev and Sukhendu Shekhar Roy of BJP from West Bengal.
