Relief ahead: Showers expected in several UP districts
Lucknow, August 8: Lightning and moderate to heavy rain are likely in several districts, including Prayagraj, in the next 24 hours. This forecast was issued by the Indian Meteorological Department on Saturday.
The Meteorological Department issued an immediate forecast of thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Prayagraj, on Saturday morning. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, Lucknow, at 5:44 am, lightning and moderate rain are likely in Prayagraj, along with winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Dr SN Sunil Pandey, a meteorologist at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), Kanpur, said that due to the changing weather, rain and thunderstorms may be seen in Prayagraj and surrounding districts. He said that people should be cautious in view of strong winds and lightning during the rain. Avoid standing in open spaces, near trees and electric poles during lightning.
According to the Met officials, apart from Prayagraj, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Chitrakoot, Banda, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Auraiya, Lucknow, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Aligarh, Badaun, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Sambhal, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Meerut and surrounding areas.
The weather expert said that in some areas there may be strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, lightning and light rain, while in some districts including Prayagraj there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain with lightning.
