UP STF catches ‘wanted’ accused in property dealer’s murder

Lucknow, July 9: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a criminal carrying a reward of ₹ 1 lakh, who was absconding in the murder of property dealer Sandeep Singh. The pistol used in the murder, cartridges, and other items were recovered from him.

STF Additional Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar said on Thursday that property dealer Sandeep Singh was shot dead on May 27. In this case, the STF arrested Ganga Ram, the main conspirator and the accused who arranged the shooters. The main shooter, Sanjay alias Sanjeev, was killed in an encounter. His accomplice Sachin, on whom a reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced, was being sought.

The STF team was searching for the wanted accused in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Basti, Ambedkar Nagar, as well as Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. In this sequence, on Wednesday night, information was received that Sachin, a wanted man with a reward of one lakh rupees, was coming to meet someone near Daluna under the Kisan Path Over Bridge. Subsequently, the STF, with the assistance of the PGI police station, arrested Sachin.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that he was riding a motorcycle at the time of the incident. Sanjay, who was riding the motorcycle, shot Sandeep and killed him. The murder stemmed from an ongoing feud between Dinesh and Sandeep. It was at Dinesh’s behest that we killed Sandeep for money. Following Sachin’s information, the police also recovered the pistol used to kill Sandeep. The STF handed over the accused to the police for further action.
