
Veteran actor Nana Patekar to be cremated at Pune farmhouse, informs longtime friend
Mumbai, October 8: Veteran actor Nana Patekar will be cremated at his Pune farmhouse. He will be given a state funeral. His body will be kept at this farmhouse for people to pay their last respects.
His farmhouse is located in Donje, Pune district, Maharashtra. Nana’s last rites will be performed there. His close friend Ganesh Thorat confirmed this and said that the actor’s body will be brought to Pune from Goa on Thursday. After this, the last rites will be performed there at around to 8 to 9 pm. This farmhouse of Nana is located on the outskirts of Pune city. Nana Patekar will be given a state funeral.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to Nana’s son, Malhar Patekar, over the phone to express his condolences. The Chief Minister reportedly informed the family about the government’s preparations for a state funeral. This honor is being bestowed by the government in recognition of Nana’s contributions to Marathi theater, as well as Hindi and Marathi cinema.
Nana’s son, Malhar Patekar, stated that he was found unconscious at his Goa home. He was immediately rushed to Manipal Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. According to preliminary information, Nana Patekar died of cardiac arrest.
According to a doctor at the hospital, Nana sent a message to a friend at around 2:30 a.m. informing him that he was unwell. Due to the late night, the friend couldn’t immediately see the message. He then contacted Nana and arrived at his home around 4 a.m. At that time, Nana was sweating profusely and his condition was deteriorating. He slowly slipped into unconsciousness. A caretaker was then sent to the hospital, and Nana was then taken by ambulance. Doctors tried their best to revive him, but his condition failed to improve.
The death of veteran actor Nana Patekar has plunged the Hindi and Marathi film industry into mourning. The 75-year-old actor breathed his last at his Goa residence late Wednesday night.
