Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025 will be implemented in Uttar Pradesh: Minister

Ballia/Lucknow, July 9: Uttar Pradesh Minority Welfare Minister Danish Ansari stated that the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025 ( officially known as UMEED Act – Unified Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development Act) will be implemented in Uttar Pradesh as well.

Reacting to the implementation of the Waqf Amendment Act in Madhya Pradesh, Danish Azad Ansari, Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh, stated that in the coming time, the Waqf Amendment Act will be implemented in accordance with the rules, regulations, and bylaws in Uttar Pradesh as well as across the country.

He stated that the Modi government has introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill with the aim of better maintaining Waqf properties. Many positive changes have been made through this Waqf Amendment Act 2024. This will have a positive impact on the functioning of the state. He stated that the truth is that under these amendments, the formation of the new Waqf Board will ensure representation of backward Pasmanda Muslims, women, and various sections of the Muslim community. Furthermore, the Board will also include two non-Muslim members.

Speaking to reporters in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, he also launched a scathing attack on the Congress party. The Yogi government minister further stated that, as per the provisions of this Waqf Amendment introduced by the central government, the formation of boards is proposed in all states, including Madhya Pradesh. Its purpose is to ensure a transparent system and smooth management of Waqfs. This Act will be applicable throughout the country, and it is mandatory for every state to adopt it. Once a board is formed in Uttar Pradesh, it will be implemented in accordance with the rules and regulations.

Responding to the Congress party’s move to the Supreme Court regarding the Waqf Amendment Act, Danish Azad Ansari stated that the Congress party has never been in a hurry to develop the country.

He alleged that after India gained independence in 1947, the Congress party did nothing concrete for the country’s basic development and, while in power, only encouraged corruption and terrorism.
