
Yogi Adityanath cabinet pushes development agenda with 39 approvals
Lucknow, October 9: In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Lok Bhavan on Friday, 39 proposals related to development, industrial investment, agriculture, employment, technology, and public welfare were approved.
With several important decisions, the cabinet reiterated its resolve to rapidly advance the state towards the goal of a “Developed Uttar Pradesh and Developed India 2047.” The cabinet approved a proposal to rename the Noida International Airport in Jewar after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The proposal to rename Bhadohi to Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi was also approved.
Taking a major step in the field of technology and innovation, the cabinet approved the establishment of the Uttar Pradesh Artificial Intelligence Mission (UP-AIM). Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Startup Procurement Scheme-2026 was approved to promote the state’s startup ecosystem. The government aims to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship by providing opportunities to startups in the state in government procurement.
In the agriculture sector, the Cabinet approved a proposal to establish a paddy procurement policy for the Kharif marketing year 2026-27. This will ensure the future paddy procurement system is conducted in accordance with the established policy. In an important decision related to women and child development, a proposal to provide an additional saree to Anganwadi workers and assistants was also approved.
It was also decided to implement the Model Building Regulations-2026 for Industrial Development Authorities, which will further streamline and standardize the building construction and development process in industrial areas. The Cabinet also approved a proposal to implement the Uttar Pradesh Interest Waiver Scheme-2026. Furthermore, a proposal to widen State Highway No. 84 in Mainpuri to four lanes was approved.
The Naval Shaurya Museum, being developed to give a new dimension to tourism in Lucknow, will be expanded. The cabinet meeting approved a proposal to provide approximately 6.8 acres of land to the Tourism Department for developing a water body under the museum’s third phase. It was also decided to hand over the responsibility of operation and maintenance of the museum complex to the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).
Ujjwala beneficiaries will receive two free LPG cylinder refills
The cabinet meeting approved a proposal to provide two free LPG cylinder refills to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in the financial year 2026-27. Beneficiaries under the scheme will receive two free LPG cylinder refills. This will incur an estimated expenditure of ₹2,142.78 crore for the state government.
Anganwadi workers and helpers will receive an additional sari
Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna informed that Anganwadi workers and helpers working in the state will now be provided an additional saree for better performance of departmental tasks and to work in prescribed attire at the workplace. A total of 3,80,290 Anganwadi workers and helpers in the state will benefit from this decision. The state government will spend around Rs 19.02 crore on this.
Procurement of maize, millet and sorghum will continue till December 31
Under the Kharif marketing year 2026-27, the procurement of ‘Shrianna’ (coarse grains) will continue till December 31. According to Food and Logistics Minister Manoj Kumar Pandey, the minimum support price for ‘coarse grains’ included in ‘coarse grains’ has been fixed at Rs 4073 per quintal for jowar (maldandi), Rs 4023 for jowar (hybrid), Rs 2900 for millet and Rs 2410 for maize.
A 37.86-kilometer road in Mainpuri will be four-lane
The Cabinet approved a proposal for revised administrative and financial approval for the widening and strengthening of Shikohabad-Bhogaon State Highway No. 84 in Mainpuri district. This includes the development of a 31.30-kilometer road from Ghiroor to Bhogaon into four lanes and the construction of a 6.56-kilometer Ghiroor bypass. The revised cost of this 37.86-kilometer route has been estimated at ₹328.67 crore.
Allowance for Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy intern students doubled
The Cabinet meeting approved a proposal to double the internship allowance given to BAMS, BUMS, and BHMS students who have passed the rotating internship examinations from government Ayurvedic, Unani, and Homeopathy medical colleges, institutes, and universities.
Uttar Pradesh to become a ‘Global Manpower Hub’
. The Cabinet meeting approved the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Skill Training and Employment Zone (SVPSTPZ) Development Scheme. Through this scheme, the goal is to develop Uttar Pradesh as the “Ultimate Sourcing Hub of Skilled Manpower” and a “Global Manpower Hub.” Under this, an integrated skill training and employment system will be developed in nine zones covering all 75 districts of the state. This will help train youth according to industry demands and connect them with employment opportunities available in the country and abroad.
A city bus terminal will be developed on 7.06 acres in the Lucknow Vrindavan Yojana
It has been decided to develop an integrated city bus terminal and commercial area facilities in the P-4 parking lot of Lucknow’s Vrindavan Yojana on a public-private partnership (PPP) mode. The total cost of the project will be approximately ₹265 crore.
Startups will gain market access in government procurement
The proposal for the Uttar Pradesh Startup Procurement Scheme 2026 was approved. The objective of the scheme is to facilitate market access for eligible startups in the state and promote the use of their innovative products, services, and solutions in government departments and other agencies.
Uttar Pradesh will become a major hub for sustainable aviation fuel
The Yogi government has taken a significant decision to make Uttar Pradesh a major hub for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) manufacturing. The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday approved the implementation of the “Uttar Pradesh Sustainable Aviation Fuel Manufacturing Promotion Policy-2026.”
The proposal to rename Bhadohi district was approved
The meeting decided to rename Bhadohi district to “Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi.” Recently, the Chief Minister announced the renaming of the district in Bhadohi after Sant Ravidas Nagar. The cabinet approved this today.
₹115 crore approved for development authority projects in Mirzapur-Vindhyachal and Muzaffarnagar
The cabinet approved the proposal to release the first installment of ₹115 crore for projects of the Mirzapur-Vindhyachal and Muzaffarnagar Development Authority under the Chief Minister’s Urban Extension/New City Promotion Scheme. A provision of ₹3,500 crore has been made for the comprehensive and proper development of new cities in the financial year 2026-27. According to the Cabinet decision, a maximum of ₹164.87 crore has been approved as seed capital for the Mirzapur-Vindhyachal and Muzaffarnagar Development Authority projects. A proposal to release funds has been approved, granting financial approval of ₹115 crore as the first installment.
Artificial Intelligence Mission to be established in UP
The Cabinet meeting approved the establishment, implementation, and operation of the “Uttar Pradesh AI Mission (UP-AIM)” to make Uttar Pradesh a leading state in the field of artificial intelligence and to promote the safe, effective, and responsible use of AI in governance and citizen services. Under the mission, district AI centers will be developed in all 75 districts of the state.
Interest and Penalty Waiver Scheme-2026 implemented in UP
The Cabinet meeting approved the proposal to implement the Uttar Pradesh Interest Waiver Scheme-2026. Under this, it has been decided to waive interest and penalties on outstanding dues arising under various tax laws until December 31, 2025. This exemption will be applicable for three months. The scope of the scheme will include old outstanding dues under several tax laws, including sales tax, central sales tax, trade tax, and value added tax (VAT).
