Lucknow flood review: CM Yogi takes stock of situation, ensures swift action

Lucknow, October 5: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a ground and aerial survey of the flood-affected Faizullaganj area of ​​the capital Lucknow on Monday. He met with flood-affected people, distributed relief materials, and directed officials to expedite necessary relief and rescue operations.

After inspecting the flood-affected area, the Chief Minister addressed the affected people. He said that heavy rains have occurred in more than 50 districts of the state in the last 10 days, causing the water level of many rivers to rise.

He said that the water level of the Gomti River in Lucknow did not rise significantly due to local rainfall, but the water level of the Gomti River has increased due to the flow of water downstream from heavy rains in Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, and the Nepal region.

He stated that Bakshi Ka Talab, Lucknow North, and Faizullaganj areas are affected by flooding. The Chief Minister conducted on-site inspections of several locations, as well as an aerial survey.

The Chief Minister stated that the Irrigation Department has been directed to prepare a plan for the construction of embankments from Faizullaganj to Naimisharanya. He stated that necessary steps will be taken to permanently resolve the flooding problem.

Chief Minister directed officials to provide relief materials, food, medical care, and other essential amenities to the affected areas, and to ensure drainage. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Advisor Awanish Awasthi, Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, District Magistrate Vishakh Ji, and local public representatives were present.

Yogi met with the flood-affected families and inquired about their well-being. He spoke with women, the elderly, and children and inquired about the relief work being provided by the administration to address the flood situation.

He then inspected the medical camp set up by the Health Department and spoke with the doctors, instructing them to provide the best possible medical care to the flood-affected people. The flood-affected people were delighted to have the Chief Minister among them.
