Keerthy Suresh, Radhika Apte lead power battle in Akka
OTT platform Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming series “Akka” starring actresses Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte in a battle for power, legacy, and revenge. Produced by Yash Raj Films Entertainment, this gangster drama series tells the story of a world where women dominate and are willing to face any challenge to protect their power.
The series is directed and written by Dharmaraj Shetty. “Akka” will be released on Netflix on October 30. The trailer offers a glimpse of the fictional kingdom of Peranuru, where women have held power and protected their legacy for generations. However, a challenge from an outsider creates tension within this system. Old wounds resurface, loyalties are tested, and the balance of power begins to shift.
The story centers on Bhavani (Keerthy Suresh) and Rudra (Radhika Apte). Their ideologies and ambitions are sharply divided, further fueling their conflict. The series will explore a power struggle, as well as a story of family, loyalty, and revenge. Keerthy Suresh plays Bhavani, a woman willing to go to any lengths to protect her legacy. Radhika Apte plays Rudra, a woman determined to challenge the established order.
In addition to the two actresses, the series also stars Tanvi Azmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Anshuman Pushkar, and Monica Panwar. According to Dharmaraj Shetty, the series attempts to present gangster stories from a different perspective and world.
This partnership between Netflix and Yash Raj Films Entertainment has previously been in the news for projects like “The Romantics,” “The Railway Men,” “Maharaja,” and “Mandla Murders.” Now, audiences await this battle for power in “Akka.”
