Hamirpur, 21 August: A woman judge in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur district has filed an FIR against a lawyer for allegedly harassing and stalking her. During the judge’s nighttime strolls, the lawyer reportedly followed her and made obscene remarks.
In her complaint, the unmarried judge named lawyer Mohammad Haroon and submitted screenshots of his chats. The police have filed an FIR under IPC sections 354(C) and 354(D).
The woman judge said that the lawyer not only followed her on walks while dressed identically, but also looked at her, peered into her office through a hole in the wall, and messaged her.
She went on to say that she had warned him countless times, but he had refused to change his ways.
Anup Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, stated that the case was filed against the lawyer on the judge’s complaint and that the matter is being investigated.
