PM Modi welcomes UNESCO recognition of Sarnath’s historic legacy, CM Yogi shares joy
New Delhi, July 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed happiness over the inclusion of Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh in the UNESCO World Heritage List and called it a proud moment for every Indian.
The Prime Minister said on Saturday that Sarnath has a deep connection with Lord Buddha and his timeless message of wisdom, compassion and harmony continues to inspire the entire world even today.
He said that this recognition by UNESCO is a global recognition of India’s rich civilizational and spiritual heritage. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that this achievement will inspire more people from across the world to visit Sarnath and connect with the ideals and message of Lord Buddha.
