Central government accepts CJP’s demands, parody party announces end of protest
New Delhi, July 25: The central government on Saturday accepted all the demands of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which was protesting at Jantar Mantar and across the country for education reforms. With this, the CJP has withdrawn its protest. The government has also stated that it will work closely with the CJP team in the coming weeks regarding education reforms.
Spokespersons Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, representing the Cockroach Janata Party, held talks with Union Ministers Jagat Prakash Nadda and Dr. Jitendra Singh at the Constitution Club in Delhi. Following the talks, the four addressed a joint press conference.
Union Minister Nadda stated that the government has sympathetically acknowledged and accepted the students’ demands. Regarding compensation, he stated that the government is sensitive to their plight and will provide the maximum possible compensation as per the rules.
CJP spokespersons Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka stated in a press conference that the CJP’s primary demand was the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, which has already been met. Their second demand was the withdrawal of all FIRs filed in Delhi and BJP-ruled states related to the protests that took place after the 20th. The government has provided assurances, and it has also been agreed that all FIRs filed will be shared with them within three to four days.
They added that the government has assured them that no future action will be taken against the CJP team for their protests. The CJP will share a draft of its demands with the government, and a written guarantee will be provided on Tuesday.
Both CJP spokespersons stated that the government has also accepted the demand for compensation for the families of students who committed suicide due to the NEET exam. Further discussions with the government will be held within four weeks regarding reforms in the education sector. They stated that they are withdrawing their protest following today’s assurances from the government.
