Lucknow, August 30: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Jayaprakash Narayan International Center (JPNIC) built in Lucknow is a living monument to the Samajwadi Party’s corruption. The SP had turned it into a den of its private limited company. There can be no greater insult to the name of a great man.
Yogi stated that the state government is working on a zero-tolerance policy against crime and criminals, as well as dishonesty and corruption.
The Chief Minister was addressing the crowd on Sunday after unveiling a magnificent statue of warrior Avantibai Lodhi, along with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. He said that this project, initiated during the Samajwadi Party regime in the name of Jayaprakash Narayan, who dedicated his entire life to protecting democracy, had a cost of ₹200 crore, but despite spending ₹864 crore, it remained incomplete. Work that was supposed to be completed in 18 months remained unfinished even after two years. A committee was formed to maintain SP control over the center, which included Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Akhilesh’s personal secretary, and SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary.
Chief Minister Yogi said that the ₹864 crore spent on JPNIC belongs not to the Saifai Syndicate, but to the people of Uttar Pradesh. No political party can be allowed to plunder public money. The government has dissolved the committee and taken back the center. Now, under the guidance of the Lucknow Development Authority, it will be operated and Jayaprakash Narayan’s memory will be kept alive. Attempts will also be made to recover the funds spent from the state treasury. Those from whom the government snatched the treasury are now spouting baseless rhetoric.
Chief Minister stated that the SP, which divides society in the name of the PDA, has never even respected great men. On the passing of former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, SP leaders offered no condolences, not even a single tweet. The SP is the king of riots. Curfews are its hallmark, and looting the government treasury is its habit. The occupation of vacant lands by SP goons and the atmosphere of fear among women and daughters were the biggest hallmarks of the previous government.
Yogi said that today the double-engine BJP government is continuously working to empower women. Mission Shakti, launched under the guidance of the Prime Minister, is a campaign dedicated to the safety, respect, self-respect, and self-reliance of women. When a daughter is protected, she develops a sense of self-preservation. With respect, she determines her own life’s direction, and when she is given opportunities for self-reliance, she leaves no stone unturned to transform her momentum into progress. The changes visible in every aspect of life today are the result of this empowerment. We have moved beyond the image of a sick country and become the growth engine of the country’s economy.
Yogi said that the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, dedicated to the memory of the revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was inaugurated by Modi. The statues of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee here inspire national integrity, Antyodaya, and good governance. Similarly, the magnificent equestrian statue of warrior Avantibai Lodhi will serve as a symbol of the dignity, bravery, and valor of Indian women, inspiring the nation.
CM stated that only a good government can do good. During the Samajwadi Party government, efforts were made to disband the PAC, which had become a scourge for rioters. The BJP government reorganized all 54 PAC companies and decided that women would also play leadership roles in the PAC. In this vein, three women battalions have been formed in the state, named after warriors Uda Devi, Jhalkari Bai, and Avantibai Lodhi. One of these battalions is in Lucknow, the second in Gorakhpur, and the third is in the final stages of construction in Badaun.
Chief Minister announced that 50,000 final-year undergraduate girls will receive scooters in the name of Rani Lakshmibai. On August 27, 28, and 29, every girl, sister, and mother will be given free travel on the Transport Corporation and city bus services. Now, every woman above 60 years of age has been given free travel on corporation buses.
Chief Minister said that the life of brave woman Avantibai Lodhi symbolizes the country’s independence and the indomitable courage of women power. At the age of just 26, Avantibai Lodhi shook the foundations of the British rule by leading the first freedom struggle. The spark ignited by Mangal Pandey in Barrackpore was furthered by Rani Lakshmibai in Jhansi. This struggle expanded further under the leadership of Dhan Singh Gurjar Kotwal in Meerut. The brave woman Avantibai Lodhi led this struggle between Jhansi and Gwalior. Her life inspires us to remain united. If we do not divide, we will not be divided.
Chief Minister Yogi said that in honor of the brave woman Avantibai Lodhi, then Chief Minister Kalyan Singh “Babuji” installed her equestrian statue in front of the Vidhan Bhavan. A stadium is also being constructed in her name in Aligarh. In honor of the immortal martyr Gulab Singh Lodhi, who hoisted the tricolor in Lucknow during the Quit India Movement of 1942, the Police Training College in Unnao has been named after him. A medical college has been constructed in Kalyan Singh’s memory in Bulandshahr. The Cancer Institute in Lucknow has also been named after Babuji, and a magnificent statue of him has been installed there.
Expressing gratitude to the organizers of this event, organized under the auspices of the Kshatriya Lodhi Mahasabha, the Chief Minister appealed for social unity and the promotion of the ideals of great men. He said that brave woman Avantibai Lodhi, immortal martyr Gulab Singh Lodhi, and revered Babuji Kalyan Singh not only strengthened social unity but also empowered the nation. Everyone will have to make collective efforts to ensure that the feeling of reverence and respect for these great men remains alive in the coming generations. On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended his greetings to everyone on Shri Krishna Janmashtami in advance.
