Family at stake again — Drishyam 3 trailer sparks excitement and questions
Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam’ and ‘Drishyam 2’ had established a distinct identity among audiences, but now, with the release of the trailer for the third installment, ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion,’ excitement has also been raised, along with some questions. In the trailer, Ajay Devgn, as Vijay Salgaonkar, is once again seen struggling to save his family.
However, looking at the story’s setup, it seems the makers have once again used the same old formula: a family crisis, police pressure, and Vijay’s brainstorming to save himself. So, the question is, what’s new for audiences in this story for the third time?
In the trailer, Tabu returns with a spirit of revenge, while Prakash Raj plays a new lawyer and Jaideep Ahlawat plays the Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch. The introduction of new characters certainly attempts to expand the story, but in many places the trailer seems to rely too heavily on dialogue and conflict.
The true strength of “Drishyam” was its calm, mind-bending plot, whereas this time, there’s a clear attempt to make the story more aggressive and high-voltage. It will be interesting to see whether the new characters truly bring life to the story or simply reinvent the old structure.
Ajay Devgn’s dialogue, “Now this game is not about the mind, it’s about destiny,” hints at the film’s direction, but this could also be a cause for concern for longtime fans of the franchise. If “Drishyam 3” shifts its strongest weapon: mind games, and relies solely on revenge, threats, and major conflict, it may be difficult to replicate the impact of the previous films.
While the trailer certainly hints at a significant threat, the story remains unanswered. The biggest question now is whether “Drishyam 3” will truly provide a compelling ending to the franchise, or will audiences witness another weak installment of the old game.
