Haridwar, September 18: Surinder Koli—convicted in the Nithari murder case—was found dead on Friday in Haridwar under suspicious circumstances at a tea stall opposite Lal Mata Temple in the Sapt Sarovar area, prompting police to inspect the scene, launch an investigation, and notify his family in Almora.

According to police, the Saptarishi police post of the city police station received information about a man found dead in a tea stall on Sapt Sarovar Road. When the police team arrived at the scene, the deceased was identified as Surinder Koli, a resident of village Mangrukhal, Bhikiyasain, Almora.

It was reported that Surinder Koli had been living in Haridwar for some time and ran a business by renting a tea stall. Preliminary investigations revealed no suicide note in the shop. According to the police, the cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report and investigation are complete.

City Police Inspector Kundan Singh Rana stated that the deceased has been identified as Surinder Koli, an accused in the Nithari case. Police have inspected the scene and begun questioning people nearby. The case is being investigated from all angles.

Acquitted in all cases in 2025:
