Modi’s qualities define capable leadership in modern age: Tshering Tobgay
New Delhi, October 07: Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay has described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the incarnation of the present times. He has said that he has the three qualities of a capable leader – knowledge, compassion and courage and all these are connected with selfless service.
Tobgay has shared an essay on X on the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Modi as the head of the government. He has mentioned about his meeting with Modi and in that meeting he spontaneously called him ‘Vishnu’s incarnation’.
He said, “For me, enlightened leadership is wisdom, compassion, and courage demonstrated through selfless service. Today, I see these qualities most clearly combined in Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India. Wisdom begins with a clear vision of a better future, and he has given India that vision—to become a developed nation by 2047, exactly a century after independence.”
He said that Prime Minister Modi has instilled tremendous confidence in Indians. He has not only given India a destination, but also inspired Indians to believe in that vision and work towards it.
Praising the Prime Minister’s inclusive approach to neighboring countries, he said that he has placed India’s neighbors at the forefront of his international relations. He has championed the interests of the Global South, convened the Global South Summit, and led the successful effort to include the African Union as a permanent member of the G20.
Linking a developed India to a developed Bhutan, Tobgay said, “B4B: India for Bhutan; Bhutan for India. This phrase is simple, yet holds profound meaning.” Today, “B4B” is visible throughout Bhutan—in schools and hospitals, roads and bridges, hydropower and technology, agriculture and enterprise.
In his essay, he also referred to the Prime Minister as his elder brother. He said that five years ago, he had told his “elder brother” that he was an incarnation of Vishnu. After deep deliberation, he finally concluded that he had been right. He said, “Not only that, but now I knew which incarnation it was. The final incarnation of Vishnu—the one associated with conquering chaos, establishing dharma, and bringing new life—was Kalki.”
