🚨 Delhi police files FIR against Rahul & Priyanka over Akashvani Bhawan entry

New Delhi, October 7: The Delhi police has registered the First Information Report (FIR) against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and others for entering the Akashvani Bhawan premises without permission during the opposition’s march against the Chief Election Commissioner. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.

According to the police, the FIR has been registered based on a complaint of entering Akashvani Bhawan without permission and staging a sit-in. Further investigation is underway in the matter. On Tuesday, leaders and workers of the Indi alliance tried to march from Parliament House towards the Election Commission headquarters. Police stopped them midway, after which Rahul, Priyanka and some other leaders entered the Akashvani Bhawan premises and sat on a sit-in. According to the police, the protesters were asked to leave the premises, but they remained there.

During this time, the police detained around 260 people. These included Rahul and Priyanka, as well as other MPs and supporters. Police later removed the protesters from the Akashvani Bhavan complex and detained them.

According to police, permission for the Indi Alliance march had not been obtained from the New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police’s office, nor had permission been granted. Despite this, the protesters began marching from Parliament House toward the Election Commission headquarters on Tuesday morning. Police blocked their march by erecting barricades along the route.

Opposition parties were protesting, alleging irregularities in the Special Intensive Review (SIR) and the Election Commission’s functioning. The protesters raised the issue of “vote theft” and demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The details of the sections invoked in the FIR and the named accused have not yet been released.
