
🔴 Uttar Pradesh expressway horror: Budding tennis players killed in accident
Sultanpur/Deoria, October 7: In a tragic incident on the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district, the death toll from a road accident has risen to four, all young tennis players, while several other players sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment in hospital, the police informed.
According to the police, the boys who died in the road accident have been identified as Aniket Singh alias Gora, a resident of Churiya village in the Lar police station area of Deoria district, Nitya Prajapati (25), a resident of Bagaha, Irfan Ansari alias Raja (22), a resident of Ballia South, and Anand Yadav of Kohra village. Anand was undergoing treatment in the hospital, but doctors could not save him. The family left Deoria upon receiving the news of their son’s death.
Aniket was the eldest of four siblings in his family. His father, Amarjeet Singh, works as a clerk at a government liquor shop, while his mother, Rambha Devi, is a homemaker. The family includes a younger brother, Ankit Singh, and sisters, Riya Singh and Reshu Singh. Riya’s elder sister is married. For the family, Aniket was not only the eldest son but also a source of hope. Aniket Singh, also known as Gora, was a renowned tennis ball player. His talent earned him recognition from the local to the national level. He regularly participated in tennis ball cricket tournaments held in Uttar Pradesh and several other states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, and Bengal. The simultaneous deaths of several young players have sent shockwaves through the cricketing community in Deoria.
The family revealed that Aniket Singh and some of his teammates had traveled to Sitamarhi, Bihar, to participate in a cricket tournament. After playing there on Monday, the players arrived in Lucknow on Tuesday, where they participated in the BKG Cricket Tournament. After the tournament concluded, all the players were returning to Deoria in an Ertiga car. Meanwhile, his car met with an accident near Sultanpur on the Purvanchal Expressway.
